In 1992 Verify First Technologies (VFT) developed and patented the ProGhost™ artificial watermark that cannot be digitally defeated and has since become a standard in document protection. Several security paper mills incorporate this technology on the back of their security papers.
The MetallicSafe® process was developed and patented by VFT in 1994. MetallicSafe® requires “tip to light” visual inspection for verification and protects against digital replication.
In 1994-95 VFT developed and patented methods to customize holographic or signature foil patterns and also protect laser papers. These techniques are trademarked as TamperSafe® – AlterSafe® and RefractoSafe™.
In 1995 VFT began working with thermochromic inks. Verify First Technologies developed and applied for patents on the TouchSafe® and ThermoHide™ hidden message technologies which combine thermochromic and conventional inks. TouchSafe® is a fingerprint seal that requires the user’s interaction and must be breathed on, rubbed or touched to verify authenticity. ThermoHide™ is a covert hidden message that both verifies authenticity and protects the document from copying or alteration attempts. In 1997 we developed and applied for patents on a new Copy/Void Pantograph, trademarked ThermoSafe™, which works in conjunction with thermochromic inks. When properly printed, this technology has proved to be superior to all other Copy/Void Pantographs currently being offered.
Also in 1997 we introduced our anti-copy technology trademarked NoDupIt®. This technology utilizes thermochromic inks to print specific screen frequency designs to degrade or totally disappear when scanned or copied.
At this time we feel these features are some of the most effective available to verify authenticity and protect against digital counterfeiting. Even if the ink were to fall into the wrong hands it would be extremely difficult to replicate without the printing technology; this is not a simple “plug & play” manufacturing process.
In 1999 we developed and patented CodeSafe®. CodeSafe® is one of the most advanced technologies you can offer your customers. The technologies can incorporate either a synthetic D.N.A. molecular or atomic element code into the product. This unique signature code is nearly impossible to replicate or reverse engineer. Its molecular or atomic makeup is comprised of extremely rare, protected elements. These elements create a unique spectral “signature” which can be decoded with spectroscopic analysis equipment in a forensic lab or in the field with low cost verifiers. In some applications the unique code’s presence can also be detected with a complementary chemical, a black-light or magnifying glass.
In 2001 we developed and patented an advanced anti-copy background we trademarked NaNOcopy™. The technology, NaNOcopy™ utilizes micro-alpha-numeric characters to create a warning message such as VOID or COPY to alert a casual observer. These micro structures are also encrypted to allow verification of secret information.
In 2002 we developed and patented a non-copyable paper/print process we trademarked CopySAFE+™. CopySAFE+™ protects private content from being copied on spectral reflection copiers and scanners.
In 2004, with the new Check-21 act for IRD’s, we developed and patented an Image Survivable security feature for checks. Trademarked ImageSECURE™, this security feature will help give companies including banks the assurance of validity even after the original check has been truncated and destroyed.
Following NASPO security standards and protocols, ProDocumentSolutions can provide any of these security solutions for our customers. We also recommend using our true watermarked SafeImage™ security paper with unique security patterns. SafeImage™ is protected with strict chain of custody agreements to prevent it from being sold into open markets.
